Rusty-Spotted Cat Program
Rusty-spotted cats are found only in India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. They are one of smallest wild cat species in the world. Very little information exists on their population distribution and ecology. Our project aims at assessing the conservation status of these elusive cats in unclassified forest patches of Eastern Ghats ranges in South India and designing conservation and outreach programs for multiple stakeholders.
